Waxing is part of the female grooming regime that, while necessary, is a service often scheduled begrudgingly. Let’s face it: letting someone rip hair out of your body hurts. Period. On a recent visit to Sweet Samba Boutique and Spa Vinings, I met esthetician Jamie, who guided me into a procedure room that had a television mounted on the wall - obviously not a typical low-light, soft music, relaxing environment. But, let’s be honest, do low lights, candles and soft music numb the pain? No. Does a television? No. But, watching Keeping Up with the Kardashians provided us with conversation fodder and welcome distraction.
Sweet Samba recently began offering “Vajazzling,” the newest female wax craze. Esthetician’s “vajazzle” a woman’s pubic area by applying crystal cosmetic adhesives, designed in almost any shape and style, to the skin. The temporary adhesives are 100% safe and last about a week. If you’re into it (or your man is), vajazzle yourself with hearts, flowers, butterflies or his initials. Talk about a surprise treat.
Sweet Samba offers many services in addition to waxing, including organic facials, massages, peels and body scrubs. You can even sign up for yoga and Pilates classes at Sweet Samba Vinings. What better way to decompress after a long day of work (or after a Brazilian wax)? Both shop locations sell clothing, jewelry and a variety of skin products, plus candles and other goodies.
